Read on as the following items on list below details the top 10 most expensive snowboards ever sold. Each one is unique in its own right and offers some pretty handy perks for those who can afford them.

With the Mystery, Burton took a different approach to modifications than many high-end boards do, which add length and pricey woods to support their high price points. Although Burton’s description of the board is rather unclear, phrases like “Methlon Base” and “Mystery Glass” are part of what draws their high-spending clientele.

It’s known that this board can be used anywhere on the mountain because it has a regular camber and real twin tips.

Burton also says this board is “an all-new hybrid camber design,” which might mean it has some of the same features as their popular hybrid rocker boards. Burton calls this one of their most versatile boards, which many avid snowboarders can agree on. You can use it on groomers or in powder conditions with confidence because of its lightweight construction and high-end materials.

As soon as you start to feel that a $300-average price for a brand-new board is excessive, the Kessler Alpine makes you feel like a whiner. Professional competitors in the sport enjoy Kessler’s high-quality boards, which have established themselves as mainstays in the snowboard and boardercross racing scenes.

The rider has normal full control over the board thanks to the regular use of Kessler Shape Technology. Even more, energy may be stored in the swing with the help of the recently created Torsion Power Control System (TPCS), which then supports the swing change dynamically.

The Alpine virtually speeds down the hill, which is why more boarders have won alpine titles on this board than any other.

Over the years, fast-flying surfboards have been referred to as “guns,” so when Pogo called one of its most expensive boards the Wingergun, they knew it would propel riders to new speeds. The Double Winger Fishtail, a brand-new concept shape, is what gives the board its name and similarities to other surfboards in Powder. The rear foot isn’t stressed, just like with the powderguns, and one stands exactly in the middle.

The handcrafted Wingergun glides over powder like a surfer over water and is made from the finest woods. You can tell you’re getting one of the most cutting-edge freeride boards available because of the high-tech features like Carbon Kevlar, a three-layer rubber frame, Titanal reinforcement, a poplar-ash core, and proprietary high-strength fiberglass.

Did You Know?

According to Pogo, the Wingergun 205 has an estimated maneuverability of 60%.

6. Pogo Maverick Powdergun

The Maverick Powdergun will undoubtedly burn a hole in your cash. Pogo is no stranger to incredibly expensive snowboards. With a 230-centimeter length, this top-of-the-line powder freeride board, you can soar higher and fly faster than before. The Maverick offers excellent control on steep ice sections while working equally well as a terrific carver on the piste.

This snowboard’s extended life and extreme lightness are both a result of the outstanding material combination. Numerous Carbon Kevlar fibers, a dampening three-layer rubber frame, a poplar-ash wood core with ABS sidewalls, Titanal reinforcements, specially made extra-strong fiber glass, and a double sintered 1,2mm P-tex 4000 base are among the ingredients.

Did You Know?

The rocker on the nose and tail prevent you from plunging headfirst into the fluffy stuff, and the Maverick’s swallowtail aids in maneuvering where you want to go.

5. Cheetah Ultra Sports The Whip

Price: $2,200
Designed and Created By: Cheetah Ultra Sports
Year Created: 2006
Unit Available: Unspecified

Cheetah Ultra Sports took a risk when they created The Whip. The board has a ton of unusual features, including elevated inserts, suspension, and what Cheetah Ultra Sports refers to as a “go faster stripe” carved out of the board’s core. Due to its mild flex and durability, the Whip is a fantastic board for beginners.

Although it is made to be used in parks, its carving abilities fall short of some other boards. When seeking for a ski or snowboard that performs well in powder and on hardpack terrain, the Whip is the ideal option. Additionally, it is a freestyle board that is more suited for park riders.

Although this feature makes it more difficult to switch between different riding techniques, the higher inlays on the board’s tail help with stability when traveling quickly through moguls or making sharp bends.

Did You Know?

Some people refer to the Whip as the “Lamborghini of snowboards,” which seems appropriate given that it is illogical, obscenely flashy, but ultimately rather cool.

4. Miura Tekila

Price: $3,400
Designed and Created By: Olivier Miura
Year Created: Unspecified
Unit Available: 1 board (prototype)

With a price that has just been quoted, the Miura Tekila snowboard is something of a myth. Its estimated cost is between $3,000 and $3,400. The Tekila was created by renowned snowboard designer Olivier Miura but it was never produced beyond the prototype stage. But there aren’t any on the market, so at this point, this is almost a myth.

A snowboard with such a distinct appearance as the Tekila allows both novice and experienced riders to use it very comfortably because of its vast width. This snowboard is asymmetrical and has a different shape on each side, making it a unique feature of the Tekila.

When riding switch (with your opposite foot ahead), which is crucial for stunts like frontside boardslides, this enables superior control.

Did You Know?

The board’s unusual concave bottom design aids in foot lock-down.

Year Created: Between 1978 and 1979

The Burton BB1 Londonderry, which was auctioned on eBay on March 25, 2012, had not changed one bit since it was first constructed between 1978 and 1979. It was made by hand in Londonderry, Vermont, and had never even seen snow. The board sold for $11,211 after 29 bids from 13 different buyers.

Jake Burton Carpenter, who also established Burton Snowboards, was responsible for the creation of the Burton BB1. The board is composed of maple, and its reverse camber design gives it a concave midsection that bends out to flat on either side.

Did You Know?

The board’s length is 38 inches, and its waist and nose widths are 15 1/2 inches and 5 3/4 inches, respectively.

2. Burton Black Widow

Despite selling on eBay for about $20,000 less than the Experimental Prototype, the vintage Burton Black Widow board made a respectable sum of money.

Burton rider Bob Novak used and signed this board in 1983. The Black Widow was one of seven skis made for the Burton team, and according to the seller, Novak used it to win a downhill race at Pando Ski Area in 1984.

Did You Know?

In the community of vintage snowboarders, there are rumors that this could have been a fake.

1. Burton Experimental Prototype

Price: $ 31,313
Designed and Created By: Burton Snowboards
Year Created: 1977
Unit Available: Less than 100 boards

Burton Experimental Prototype is considered the most expensive snowboard ever sold.  The sale happened in 2014 with a whopping price tag of $31,313 on eBay. Vintage Winter, a ski and snowboard business that specializes in selling antique and vintage equipment, sold the board.

Because so many other Burton Experimental Prototypes had been misused, overused, and thrown away, this board’s existence was extremely valuable. It’s not just the fact that this Burton board was the first ever made by Burton, it’s also because it has been completely preserved. The board was never waxed or used for a single run—it was kept in storage until it was sold on eBay.

Did You Know?

Jeff Hume, a representative for Vintage Winter, claimed that the business has never sold a board for that much before.
