Disc golf was pioneered by Ed “Steady” Headrick, who patented both the frisbee and the Disc Golf Pole Hole. The combination of them eventually became a well-known niche sport, becoming organized in 1974. This led to the founding of the DGA in 1975 and eventually the modern competition circuits known as the Disc Golf Pro Tour.
While to the uninitiated, the discs used in disc golf may look like ordinary frisbees, the discs are manufactured for speed and performance in a professional sports setting. Some are limited editions and signed by the sport’s most famous athletes, which drives their prices in the aftermarket.

9. Sockibomb Innova LVC Destroyer
Year: 2021
Weight: 175g
Color: Black
The Sockibomb Innova LVC Destroyer has an insane speed rating of 12 but a -1 turn rating, which means this disc is for overstable long-distance driving. It’s a disc of choice for power shooters and players who throw with their sidearm. Due to its impressive speed rating, it can handle headwinds if you know how to use it.
The Destroyer discs are not recommended for inexperienced players. For pro-level throwers planning a match with a consistent flight path and potentially hazardous weather conditions, the disc is a serious high performer.
A specific example listed as the 2021 LVC Limited Edition was sold on eBay for $545.

The midrange discs known as the Paul McBeth Buzzz series were incredibly popular for a reason — they are commonly considered among the most comfortable and stable flyers in the whole sport. They’ve been available for over a decade, but they’ve recently become much rarer, selling for hundreds when first-run discs in new condition come onto the market.
That was the case with this disc, a Paul McBeth Esp Buzzz that sold earlier this year for $611. According to the manufacturer, Discraft, the Buzzz disc series is the most popular competition disc in the world.

The professional disc golfer Paul McBeth lent his name to this series of discs after winning his fourth consecutive PDGA World Championship title. In 2019, he won it again for 5 wins in total. In the past 9 years, he has won either 1st or 2nd place in every championship.

According to the seller, the discs are in lightly used condition, only used a few times to put around a warehouse. They have never been played in a game.

3. Nate Sexton 2020 LVC Limited Edition
Year: 2020
Weight: 175g

We had to list the price for this golf disc as being less than $799 because eBay does not list the actual sale price when a best offer is accepted. However, we assume this Nate Sexton 2020 LVC Limited Edition disc golf disc sold for around that much based on its valuation on other sites.

Overhead throwers flock to Firebird for their performance, though collectors flock to this one for its looks too.
